Josephine Dai is a three-time cancer survivor whose journey began in 2015, shortly after her 40th birthday. After discovering a painful lump in her right breast, she was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer and underwent a right mastectomy with immediate implant reconstruction at Memorial Sloan Kettering. Throughout treatment, she continued caring for her two young daughters and eventually returned to the elementary school classroom she loved.
Four years later, Josephine discovered a bump near her surgical scar and learned that the breast cancer had returned. She would later face Stage 1 skin cancer, making her a two-time breast cancer survivor and a skin cancer survivor.
Her journey brought physical and emotional challenges, including treatment-induced menopause, changes to her body, and the difficult process of learning to feel beautiful and confident again. Over time, Josephine came to see her scars not as imperfections, but as evidence of everything she had fought through and survived.
Grounded in faith, resilience, and self-advocacy, Josephine shares her story so other women will feel less alone, trust their instincts, and speak up for themselves. Her message is simple, loving, and powerful: “Baby Girl, Keep Going.”
