Candacy Jeffrey

Contributing Author

Candacy Jeffrey is a breast cancer survivor, devoted mother, community advocate, and joyful source of encouragement to everyone around her. Her involvement with the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer movement began in 2009, after her best friend Tracy was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer. Determined to do something meaningful, Candacy showed up as a friend, supporter, and enthusiastic cheerleader.

In 2018, Candacy’s life changed when she received her own Stage 3 breast cancer diagnosis. What began as a mission to cheer for someone she loved became a journey of learning to cheer for herself. Through a double mastectomy and twelve surgeries, Candacy discovered a depth of strength she never knew she possessed.

A proud mother to her daughter, Jordan Tracy, Candacy meets life with warmth, humor, positivity, and an unmistakable energy that lifts others. She has a gift for making people feel welcomed, supported, and encouraged—even during life’s most difficult moments.

Through her continued involvement with Making Strides and her chapter in Lifted, By My Girls!, Candacy reminds women that strength does not mean never feeling afraid. It means continuing to show up, finding reasons to celebrate, and becoming your own greatest cheerleader.
